This book is adventure in many forms. With themes of self discovery, processing one’s circumstances and a road trip with added exploration. It touches on several levels of the human experience with the gentleness of a seasoned writer.

This is the second novel I’ve read by Ataya, and her second published multi POV work. In The Dhawan Brothers I found each character to be well developed, with a unique lens that they each view the world through being distinct and compelling.

The family dynamics, which were created by the hierarchy of the brothers and their circumstances, all felt real and genuine. From their humorous and playful interactions, to their grief and frustrations, I felt like I was watching the intricacies of a real family’s life play out in real time.

This novel feels raw and deep and it’s evident it’s been written with heart and intention.

Highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys books with road trips, real human struggles and a focus on relationships with family, friends and the self.
Another book from Author Lucie Ataya that I am gushing over!

The Dhawan Brothers quickly grips and pulls you into their intense and emotional family journey.

The sibling dynamic almost reminds me of Alcott's 'Little Women' but modern and with more heart wrenching twists and turns. I found myself resonating with the brothers distinct characteristics at different stages of their journey.

The story is sophisticatedly sewn together as you hop from person to person, gaining an insight to their own perspective. The struggles and triumphs of childhood, love, loss and family relationships had me crying at moments and beaming in heart warming joy in other moments.

The novel is a perfect mix of an easy read yet balanced with emotional maturity. I highly recommend!

This is one of those books that is so well written you feel a little sad when it’s over.

Lucie uses multiple POVs, and there isn’t a moment where they feel unnecessary or make the story drag. Some of the parts of the story were predictable, but how she got there threw me for a loop.

The plot and execution was so much deeper than I could’ve ever predicted. She handled the sensitive subjects with so much care, and the emotions were perfectly done. The way grief was shown was so realistic and relatable as someone who has been through loss.

This is a great read, and I highly recommend picking it up, especially if you’re someone who likes a more emotional read.

A unique and heartbreaking story of family struggles and the fight to overcome.

Was quickly drawn into the Dhawan brothers' shared, but at the same time wildly different, experiences in coping with such tragedy. You are continually rooting for them to come out the other side okay.

Truly enjoyed their journey, even though it was hard at times to get through the deeply sad stuff. A few twists felt like really?! Come on, these poor boys have had enough!

Overall great read, characters and storytelling from Ataya!

A very emotional rollercoaster and fast-paced read that sucked me right in.

I loved the different POVs and their clearly distinguished voices.

I think the idea of family trauma and secrets that haunt you until you face them is an important topic and lingers after reading.

Rolled into the road trip plot, it gives it the sense of adventure and excitement that is needed to be an enjoyable and exciting story rather than gloomy and depressing.

The story of the Dhawan brothers grips you from the first page and does not let you settle down until the last one.

This fast-paced, intelligent and relevant novel touches on many themes we struggle with today - mental health, belonging, opening our hearts to others - and makes it for both an entertaining and a reflective read.

I believe that each one of us will find ourselves reflected in the thoughts and feelings of the four brothers, and will take something away for our own lives.
